MJ's 6 Month post opp check up

MJ recently had his 6 month post opp check up!! I cant believe it!! Its so crazy to think that it was only 6 months ago and he is doing amazing. He is such a curious and active little boy. He is trying his hardest to walk right now which is a little scary, but I'm trying not to be paranoid about him hitting his head on everything. He is so tough he usually falls and bounces right back up. I'm the one that is freaking out lol. 

The doctor said everything is going great with his head! YAY! There are a few bumpy spots and his soft spot is still open but they are going to keep an eye on it. MJ goes back in 3 months for another follow up visit.

MJ Update from Aunt Clo and Aunt Rai

Thursday’s update, it has been a very tough few days for everyone, especially MJ. It didn’t hit us hard until the moment we said goodbye to him just before surgery. He is such an amazing little boy with the best personality. He never cries. He is always smiling, and he has the most adorable little giggle. Coming into the room in the ICU after his surgery was extremely hard. Hearing that perfect little boy in such agony was heartbreaking. We broke down. He has been so tough throughout this whole experience, and we couldn’t be more proud of him. Today he has improved a lot. Yesterday was definitely his worst day. His swelling is finally starting to go down, and we are starting to see our perfect little MJ again. He brought us so much joy today when he started talking and giggling again. He hasn’t cried at all and has been so calm. We are getting so excited to see those beautiful blue eyes again! He just opened his right eye the slightest little bit tonight! Please continue to pray for his swelling and his pain to go completely away! We are hoping to see him open both eyes tomorrow.

P.S. Thank you all for the goodies and balloons. MJ will love seeing them when he opens his eyes!

Pre OP

 Today MJ had a big day he went in for a checkup with Dr. Maugans and pre op blood work. Everything tested out perfect we are all set to check in to the hospital at 6am tomorrow and surgery will begin at about 7-7:30am. The whole surgery will take about 3-4 hours. MJ will be in the ICU for 24-48hrs depending on how he is doing. They said we could stay in the hospital for up to 5 days depending on the swelling, pain and how well MJ is eating. We will keep you updated on lil MJ. We got a picture with Dr. Maugans his Neurosurgeon and MJ blood work. His favorite though was the huge fish tank in Nemours provided by Sea World. He loved it!! He had such a big day he had to take a nap with dad.Thank you all for your continued love and prayers.

He is 6months where has time gone

On Friday MJ went to his 6 month well checkup. I can’t believe that he is already 6 months!! Such an amazing lil guy. He got a good report and…… 

3 shots L. He didn’t even cry till the last one. He loved the fish and turtles on the walls.

Thank you so much for all the care packages from our family and friends. Sue Olsen thank you so much for the super cute onsies from Rags to Raches he will be rocking them after his surgery!! You are so kind. Also thank you so much to The Merritt family in GA for the parent’s hospital survival bag with tons of snacks and goodies for Mom and Dad. We also want to thank Cranio Care Bears. This is one of the most amazing organizations they sent us a whole package (Pictured below) of things for Mom and Dad and goodies and toys for MJ too. They also sent a CD of the most amazing 5min prayer for the child and family. Seriously one of the most touching prayers I have ever heard I was in tears!! So comforting! They also have a selection of songs this one is our new favorite!!

 Mindy Gledhill - All about your heart  If anyone is looking to donate to an organization this is it. They send care packages to every child that goes in for  craniosynostosis surgery. Thank you everyone for all the love and prayers.
